Review: L Devine's first ever headline show proves pop brilliance | SOLD OUT

L Devine delivered a sold out debut headline show at The Courtyard Theatre in Shoreditch this week.

The singer is well on her way to being a household name pop star. She’s already sorted with the vibrant live set, complete with a huge lit ‘L’, keyboard players who break out the occasional dance move, and a swarm of teenage fans clad in L-Devine merch queuing from the afternoon to take front row.

The singer performed her most popular songs ‘Naked Alone’ (for which she fully tattooed her inner lip for the album artwork, so it deserves a spin!), an acoustic performance ‘Daughter’ which hits the emotions as she remembers a relationship where she was kept apart from her love, and the ever-bright ‘Runnin’ which ended the night with a ceiling of balloons being released on the audience.

Devine also performed an acapella song as an encore, a last minute unprepared (but well delivered) song as her charming humbleness showed she genuinely came with no encore expected, but very much deserved!

Tickets are flying for her next headline in London at Omeara in September. Buy them here, and make sure to check out the cover story with L on the next issue of the Concentus Music magazine!
