The Howl & The Hum | Live at Leeds Top 12

The Howl & The Hum are locals to the North and are one of the favourites of Live at Leeds, packing out the iconic Brudenell Social Club resulting in a very sweaty audience – only a good sign of course.

Songs like ‘I Wish I Was A Shark’ may sound comedic from the title, but the more you listen to them, you realise just how sincere (and sometimes dark) the group’s themes are, making their songs to be enjoyable but thought provoking – best of both worlds!

One of the most commendable qualities of The Howl & The Hum, both on stage and online, is their personalities which shine through. It’s certain they’re not putting up any sort of front, they aren’t just there to deliver a set and leave, but they are mentally present, part of the community and care to interact with their audience on a personal level.

Vocalist and lyricist Sam Griffith’s delivers, via powerful vocals, songs that are almost a complete collection of stories. There group aren’t hiding behind pretentious metaphors or alike, but they’re fun, to the point, quirky, and unapologetically charismatic selves just take that band a few steps farther than a band who otherwise just makes great music.

Catch them in London this July 17th for their first headline down here at our favourite place – Camden Assembly! Tickets here!
