REVIEW: Bad Sounds + Indoor Pets + Dylan Cartidge | 'Get Better' Tour | Heaven

Bad Sounds sold out London’s Heaven on their biggest UK tour to date – a milestone for any rising British artist.

The night featured the core duo, Ewan and Callum, who are the brains behind Bad Sounds, with a band behind them. It featured an array of instruments from synths to brass to compliment their hip-hop influenced style, making an eclectic sound.

Bad Sounds opened the night on ‘Wages’, and set the tone for the dynamic, colourful night that was ahead. Tracks from their debut album ‘Get Better’ was at the core of their set list, and brought the summer vibes back to the chilly October outside. However, their signature coverall outfits were exchanged for neon skeleton outfits half way, perfectly in the theme of upcoming Halloween.

The duo and their musically diverse band spread their immense energy to their young, teenage audience, who proved a loyal fan base as they sold out the show. The fans created one of the biggest mosh pits I have ever witnessed – that too at an indie type gig – spreading all the way to the back of the 2,000 cap venue.

Dylan Cartlidge opened the night, which was a privilege to be in the audience for as he is arguably one of the most exciting new acts on the scene right now and no doubt will be headlining his own Heaven show in the years to come! He has funk infused live guitar music, with poetic lyrics and even featured freestyling at moments, allowing us to witness and be a part of his creativity first hand.

Indoor Pets followed as main support, providing the ultimate indie-rock set, but include a full on entertainment factor in their sets too. As a support band it is often a challenge to engage an audience who isn’t primarily there to see you, but Indoor Pets certainly attained a few new fans this tour.
