Jorja Smith | Somerset House

The Somerset House crowd stood firm in the pouring rain, knowing it was well worth it to catch a glimpse of the Jorja Smith, as she's made a name for herself to be one most exciting artist coming out of the UK’s live scene right now.

Jorja is flying high on her independent artist status, standing firm at the the forefront of revolutionising the music industry.

She opened the night with the title track from her debut album ‘Lost & Found,’ released just earlier this year, setting the tone for the rest of the night for the jazz inspired, modern R&B set which had touches of pop, enabling Jorja to appeal to a wide audience.

An array of Britain’s finest R&B musicians joined her on stage, including Maverick Sabre to perform live their collaboration ‘Carry Me Home,’ and hot right now hip hop artist Loyle Carner to join her in a freestyle type performance of her otherwise solo track ‘Lifeboats.’ The night really took an unexpected turn when grime King Stormzy joined the stage to end the night, marking the mid point of Somerset House’s Summer Series with one hard to beat. The night ended as one of the most iconic celebrations of British music today.

Make sure to check out the UK’s fastest rising star and catch her in intimate spaces whilst you still can!
