AMP Sounds: Closing Party at The Roundhouse

Annie Mac brings the closing party for her recent run of Annie Mac Presents shows to the Roundhouse main stage. AMP Presents delivers a series of gigs curated personally by Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, largely in and around Camden including The Jazz Café, showcasing the UK’s best emerging artists.

The night saw a stellar line up of some of the UK’s largest artists and Annie’s own dear friends whom she has supported on their way up. Though with a rocky start with a fire alarm interrupting Ghett’s set, the entire crowd was ushered out and back inside the venue within only half an hour, spirits were not dampened, but in fact the adrenaline and determination to have a good night was higher than ever and the show went on like nothing happened in style.

The line up had a mixture of hip-hop / R&B  legends including Wretch 32 and Stefflon Don and Raye. Mac herself joined electronic duo Disclosure on stage towards the end of the night. Sam Smith joined the stage to perform live vocals for collaboration ‘Latch’ with the duo, taking the crowd by complete shock. Other unannounced surprise pop acts including Years & Years, performing old hits like ‘Desire’ to an adrenaline-fuelled crowd on this Saturday night.

Overall it is safe to say this was a life changing experience. Between the line up and laser light show, Annie Mac proves herself once again to be the leader in bringing talent to audience! Not to mention, all profits from the event were donated to the Roundhouse charity – an inspiring initiative run by the Roundhouse venue itself to launch 16-25 year olds into the creative industries.
