Bishop Briggs performed two sold out shows in New York City this week, during her first headline US tour!

The deep, strong and booming vocals that is Bishop Briggs, coupled with her bold spin on electronic pop that is taking over the emerging music scene today, took over the venue as she performed a set featuring all her songs on her debut EP released just days before the performance, along with old and new songs.

She opened her set with ‘Dark Side,’ an apt opening with lyrics “Welcome to my dark side.” This song perfectly introduced the bold electronic set that was to follow, introducing the evidently personal songs to the singer, as well as the authentic, powerful yet controlled vocals with the musically advanced band behind her.

The texture of her vocals adds a particular soulful side to the otherwise pop rock sound, giving an extra special spin to her songs. This was particularly prominent in her performance of ‘Hallowed Ground’, one of my favourite performances of the night.

She closed the night on ‘Wild Horses’ – a song with an intriguing beat to accompany her otherwise tranquil vocal melody, and really solidifying her desire to occupy the creative electronic-pop space amongst the fastest rising musicians today.

The crowd roared for an expected encore, as she couldn’t end the night without performing her huge hit ‘River,’ a song streamed millions of times all over the world, and it’s no wonder that this song took the world by storm. A melody and composition not similar to any other song, Briggs’ ‘River’ really leaves you with no doubt what a fearless and inspirational artist she is.

A completely flawless vocal performance from Briggs from start to finish, we can’t wait to see Briggs grow!
