Concentus Music: Summer Live - London 10
We, Concentus Music Live, come back to London after our New York City stint for our tenth night in London (eleventh overall)!
One of Brighton’s brightest rising indie bands Nature TV – formerly known as Lion Bark – open the night with their first show in London under the new name and line-up. A really chill perspective on an otherwise indie-rock line up, the band create a whole new genre for themselves, including their debut track ‘Action,’ which features some deep, droney vocals, and some simple yet sophisticated instrumentation by the guys.
Oliver Pinder continued the night. Coming North to South from our favourite place in England LEEDS, though his cellist was unfortunately sick, he held the stage on his own, for his first solo gig in years! Oliver even ended the gig in classic acoustic-performer style and came in to the audience for his last song, ‘Bruise,’ and performed it unplugged, captivating the entire audience, successfully silencing the room with his sweet music.
Malory continued the night. She performed at our second ever night back in October 2015 as acoustic-folk musician Malory Torr, so it was exciting to have her back on the stage with her new name, new band, and new sound, and some funky outfits too! Her bright red dress and colourful lighting catching the audiences’ eye the second she got on stage, the songs were a perfect mix of sophisticated pop and experimental electronic pop which were refreshing to hear. She performed some old favourites of mine ’21 Years’ and ‘Wanna Be Gangster,’ but also her newest single, premiered on Wonderland Magazine, ‘Rapture,’ video released the day of the gig, taking the internet by storm!
The Limited headlined the night, showcasing music from their new EP ‘Money’ released just days before. All four tracks were performed live – ‘Coffee’ and ‘It’s Alright’ being the favourites. The Limited are a group of four, with huge, tuneful, bright voices and funky guitar riffs filling up every corner of the intimate venue in the middle of Oxford Circus, The Social.
And last but not least, our girl Bella Liisa closed the night for us DJing some indie tunes!
It was an honour to have such a great tenth night back in our home of London, a definite milestone for us, and here’s to all the bands for playing their new releases with us! We are yet to announce the next gig, but in the meanwhile check out all the photos from this night at the Gallery! Videos coming soon..
