Foxtrax returned to SXSW this year for the second year running. After leaving a huge impression on the festival’s audience during their run of shows in SXSW 2017, the band delivered a brighter sound and more refined sound to their fans old and new.

Though their usual drummer, Jon, was unfortunately absent from the week’s performances, usual members Ben and Jared with a drummer substitute were still able to deliver the exhilarating and lively sound that signatures Foxtrax.

Frontman Ben’s always charismatic performance adds an extra charm to the group’s live sets, on top of his unmissably impressive multi-instrumentalist skills, where we see him on the piano, guitar, and his vocals throughout, enabling just a group of three to provide a full sound.

The group’s most popular song, Underwater, is always an audience favourite. Clearly influenced by their Southern Californian residence of Los Angeles, the bright guitar riffs outline the song as well as a major key, uplifting melody, perfect on the setting sun of Austin that was behind them on their rooftop performance.
