Concentus Music Live at The Social!

Concentus Music Live returns this 2017! Just about recovering from our sold out Roundhouse gig, we start the new year with a ram packed night at The Social! Performers included Hannah Scott, One Eyed Jacks, Echoic, with a headline from Young Monarch, as well as a DJ set!

Kathryn Gallagher from NYC was supposed to join us but alas got taken ill, however Hannah Scott joined the line up last minute, showing us her wonderful folk-pop tunes! Having first interviewed her and seen her over in NYC too at Mondo last year, it was great to have her perform at one of our nights! Highlight of her set was her song ‘Weight of Your Words’ which is her upcoming new single, so watch out for her!

One Eyed Jacks then continued the night. A seven-piece funk band, these guys really brought the night to life when their three vocalists came together, along with the band behind them, and provided us with some insane tunes! Short of a bassist, the group performed just an acoustic set, their stage presence and ability to take over the room was still strong.

Echoic followed on. Another friend of ours from Mondo NYC, this Reading band performed for their London fans once again. On the rockier side of music, they have some catchy guitar riffs, and a drummer who just won’t stop!! Lead singer Connor has a great ability to connect with the crowd too, hyping them up and even coming in to the audience at one point, and generally just has a great voice!

Headliners Young Monarch were SPECIAL. Very loud for a small room, but they made it work. Six piece band consisting of all the instruments you can think of, from saxophone to electric violin to vocals, Young Monarch were one of the most exciting headliners we could have asked for. Their new single is coming out soon too so watch out for a live video from this gig coming soon!

We also had some DJ sets this time, not something we often do but it's great when we can, so thanks to Bobby Kang for those funky tunes!
