BRIT Awards 2016!

BRIT AWARDS 2016! Award show season is my absolute favourite time of the year. Even though awards don’t really mean anything, it’s still just a celebration of the greatest new music from the artists at the top of the industry, getting together and having one massive concert.

Adele basically won everything, Bieber won something, James Bay won Best British Male Solo Artist which made me so happy, seeing as the awards started with Bay playing guitar for Bieber.. not sure who programmed that, but anyway, he then performed his classic ‘Hold Back The River.’ Jess Glynne also performed a great medley of all her biggest hits – she’s always a favourite to watch! And of course, Rihanna’s performance of ‘Work’ joined by Drake on stage, and not to forget Coldplay opening the night! But only half on One Direction was there so much sadness.

The most notable part of the night of course however was the glorious tribute to David Bowie. Not in the same way that Gaga did so at The Grammy’s, but here, Bowie’s friends, including Annie Lennox, poured their hearts out with kind words, and Lorde performed a magnificent cover of Life On Mars.

The awards to me always feel like a small part of the night, but it’s more about the celebration of music. Adele closed the night on her latest ‘When We Were Young’ after taking home four awards – so congratulations to her!

AND JACK GARRATT for winning Critics’ Choice Award before the show – whoever is nominated for this always reaches the top of their game, and I love this guy so super excited for him!
