REVIEW: Augustines - LAST EVER Tour

It’s the Augustines’ LAST EVER tour, and we saw them for one of their last ever performances in Leeds last weekend, as we say Goodbye to this band as they make their own separate ways at the end of their rather long musical life.

Audience largely the generation above mine, but of course some die young adult hard fans scattered throughout the audience, people wereheckling throughout the night with desperate calls not to break up.

For someone who’s new to the band (got on that wave a little late I realise), it was cool to see an indie-rock American band who were just short of the ‘mainstream’ still influence an audience across the globe. (But rather strange a New York City born and bred band are going to play their last show ever in Liverpool in a few days…)

They played songs from their latest album, their Goodbye album, ‘This Is Your Life,’ as well as some classic hits which clearly separated the die hard fans from the general gig-goer as there was some dedicated sing along to those.

I’m glad I got to see them before they disappeared off the music scene at least, better late than never!
