Concentus Music's Three Year Anniversary at the Roundhouse

Concentus Music marks its three-year anniversary by celebrating with a night of new music right where we begun on March 19th 2015 in our home at The Roundhouse! The night featured headline from Alexis Kings, as well as Lauran Hibberd, New Portals, and Roundhouse's own home-grown resident artists Purple Lights kicking off the night.

Purple Lights are a duo who in an innovative manner combine heavy rock music foundations with electronic synths. Their latest single 'Not Alone' has achieved wide acclaim, and proved a popular moment for the band on the night with it’s thoughtful lyrics and catchy melody.

New Portals followed. Similar in set up to Purple Lights where they were an electronic duo, New Portals however drew in a larger pop influence to their music. Their biggest single ‘Stereo’ has accumulated thousands of hits online and it was a great chance to see this in person. The group recently relocated from Belfast, this was one of the first gigs in London and their chance to introduce themselves here, and inviting the audience to make friends with them afterwards!

Lauran Hibberd provided main support for the night. She is an artist who is deemed a big name to watch right now. A solo artist with a band behind her, she has the strongest elements in her performance. Hibberd hails from Isle of Wight, and a ferry ride later, she performed at the Roundhouse.

Alexis Kings headlined the night. The group drew in a huge dedicated crowd who were singing their songs word for word – a great honour for emerging bands. In particular,  their biggest one ‘Squire’ was a favourite for the audience, as well as their new single ‘Magic Mind’ just released prior to the event.

It was a special night where friends of Concentus old and new came together to celebrate three years of doing what we do – championing new music in London’s greatest indie venues! We can’t wait to see what these artists do next. Check a highlights reel of the night here.
